Manchester City are ready to open new contract talks with David Silva after the international break.
The midfielder now has less than two years to run on his current deal and been linked with a return to Real Madrid, where he kicked off his pro career.
However, City have drawn up a new, improved contract offer which would keep Silva in England until 2017.
Silva is currently earning around £140,000 per week with the new deal taking him through the £200,000 mark enjoyed by other top tier earners including Sergio Aguero, says the Mirror.
